The owner of a beautiful appearance and a thin voice was listed producer Andrew Loog Oldham (The Rolling Stones), who offered the young singer to record for Decca one of the songs of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards - Some Things Just Stick in Your Mind. Vashti also recorded songs for Columbia and Immediate, but they were published and were not. As a result, the singer left London with his friend the poet Robert Lewis and the dog, went to the north of England, with - in the tent, which was drawn by a horse. Vashti been like wandering Scots of former times, spending on roads and a half years. As expected, the singer was rewarded with the inspiration that allowed her to write a song cycle. When these songs reached the ears of Joe Boyd, tortured misadventures Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention, they seemed to him an angelic revelation that will save his hopeless company. He ordered at once to record an album, which was invited to the studio Dave Svobrika, Simon Nicol and even Robin Williamson (The Incredible String Band). Each of them as he could, played up the singer, and in some of the songs she comped herself. In early 1970 the album Just Another Diamond Day (Philips 6308 019) with a set of quiet, sentimental, leisurely songs, clearly having meditative influence, because and monotonous. Joe Boyd escorted album commentary, which ends like this: "I do not know anyone else whose music is so fully would reflect his life and soul." Now the original plate stands on eBay $ 2000 ...
