The Petards - initially a bit-band (like all German bands 60s), which at home compared to The Rattles and The Lords. History of the group began in 1961, when the brothers Klaus and Horst Ebert organized group Magic Stompers. Few years they played free-jazz and covers. Later they were joined by bassist Rüdiger "Roger" Waldmann - it was "obvious" twist and a bit fancier. In 1966 they found a permanent barabanschikaHans Jürgen Schreiber and renamed themselves The Petards. The group has performed many brothers and Eberts began to perform their own things. The band's popularity grew more live performances, the first radio interview. In 1966 appeared the first single, "Baby Run, Run, Run" / "Pretty Miss", which immediately hit the German charts, as well as two subsequent ("Right Time" / "She Didn't", "Shoot Me up to the Moon "/" Lazy Moon "). In June 1967, a change took place drummer - it was Arno Dittrich (already well-known in Germany). Then the band began recording their first album - A Deeper Blue, which was released in 1968. The CD was well received by the public and critics. The album entered the top 20 in Germany. The Petards one of the first in Germany to realize that music is not only important, but also the stage show. They are used in concert costumes, scenery, lighting shows. Album 1969 The Petards contained the hit "Pretty Liza", to get to the first place in Germany. Music Express magazine in 1969, the group was recognized discovery of the year in Germany, and their album took fifth place among the best albums of the year. At the same time under the pseudonym Zonk, the band released an album of covers "Creedence Clearwater Revival". This album was released in Germany in addition to the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan. This was followed by performances in Paris, in the hall of Olympia. In 1970, the musicians of the festival organized Burg-Herzberg-Festival, which was then held for several years and which involved - Guru Guru, Jeronimo, Can, Amon Düül II, Frumpy, Embryo, Achim Reichel and other Krautrock-gang. In early 1971, a double album Pet Arts, after which the group left Klaus Ebert. Instead, it came Bernd Wippich, which was released last album Burning Rainbow at the end of 1971. In 1972, the group disbanded.
